Guinguettes are open-air places where you can eat, where you can have a drink and above all, where you can dance.
These spots are living the quays up during summer time for a few years now. In fact, it is not a new trend that sets up along the Loire River, since it goes back to the 30’s and 40’s.
Each year in September, we are sad to see them close, waiting for the re-opening the following year in May or June. This year we can count at least 4 Guinguettes in the center of Orleans.

UNWINDING ON THE QUAYS of the LOIRE RIVER IN LOIRET
“La Corne des Pâtures” rural and artistic, in Baule.
A bucolic and ecological Guinguette, like a small village, with different activities depending on the day of the week. A market, shows for kids, live bands, debates, games, for sure; you will find what you are looking for in Baule.
“Le Boui-Boui”, not only snacks and drinks.
You can have a variety of dishes (brunch and oysters on weekends), all the day long, in a relaxed atmosphere.
“Le Fût d’trop” where to have a drink, feet in the sand.
A spot to feel like you are relaxing on the beach, but in the center of Orleans.
“La Paillotte” a place for art and culture.
On the south bank of the Loire, you will be able to discover original activities this summer: mimes, circus, theatre…
“La Sardine”, on a pontoon, quays of the Loire, the place to dance.
From Wednesday to Sunday, you can dance to all sorts of music: rock, salsa, jazz, reggae, folk...
You are spoilt with choices now, enjoy your time on the quays!
