The cake knawn as "Le Loiret Gourmand"
This delicious patisserie has rather curious origins, since it was the work of several of the départment's patisserie chefs. Its recipe makes the most of Loiret produce – and thick Gâtinais honey in particular. Decorated with red fruits and topped with a delicious coulis of woodland raspberries, the cake is sold whole or in individual portions. The local council and the Chambre des Métiers du Loiret helped promote this subtle delicacy, which is pride of Loiret and a worthy addition to its culinary delights.
